Welcome to the official San Diego Allied Health & Nursing Service - Education Consortium web site.

The San Diego Nursing Service-Education Consortium was formed in July of 1996 with the express goal of coordinating the clinical placement process in order to mutually benefit both nursing service providers (agencies) and nursing programs. In 2011, allied health planning was piloted and is operational for the 2012-2013 schedule. Clinical planning is done on an annual basis using our state-of-the-art web-based scheduling program. The program enhances education-service communication and placement opportunities. Currently, all the major nursing education programs, all the major health care facilities, as well as many other health care agencies are involved in the nursing aspect and several of the major hospital systems are utilizing the Allied Health planning option. Currently 42 programs and approximately 140 facilities are involved. 5,114 clinical requests were facilitated for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Calendar for 2012-2013 Planning

• January 13 and 27, 2012: Optional open computer lab for schools to input clinical requests on website: 1300-1600 at NU's Technology and Health Sciences Ctr, 3678 Aero Ct, SD 92123 (858-309-3400).
• February 17, 2012: Deadline for schools to have entered requests on website.
• March 9, 2012: Conflict resolution meeting for schools. One to 3 p.m. at the Mission Valley campus of Point Loma Nazarene University, 4007 Camino del Rio South, SanDiego, CA 92108, (619) 563-2818. This is an in-person opportunity to resolve scheduling conflicts based on Conflict Report on website.
• March 16, 2012: Release (by Administrator) of clinical requests to agencies on or before this date.
• NOTE: Spring Consortium meeting for education and service constituents will be rescheduled. Date, site and time TBA. Tentatively hold March 30, 1-3 p.m.
• March 23, 2012, 1300-1530: Open computer lab to assist service providers with use of the website and electronically respond to clinical requests. Site: NU's Technology & Health Sciences Ctr, 3678 Aero Ct, SD 92123 (858-309-3400). Additional training can be arranged.
• May 18, 2012: Deadline for agencies to make responses official on the website.
• October 2012, 1000-1200: Fall Consortium meeting for education and service constituents. Location TBA.
